What volume adds to price

Volume counts how many shares changed hands in a bar. Comparing the latest bar with its 20-bar average shows whether participation is elevated, average, or light.

Reading the volume bar

As of 2026-08-14, AAPL shows volume ~0.5x the 20-day average (below average). Moves that occur with elevated volume describe stronger participation than moves on light volume.
